Synopsis
US Navy Lieutenant B. F. Pinkerton buys a house in Japan along with a bride, Cio-Cio San, a.k.a. Butterfly, to tide him over until he marries a "real" American wife. When he leaves for America, Cio-Cio San waits patiently and jumps for joy when his ship enters the harbor after three years. Unfortunately, his return ends in tragedy.
